Mother Nature’s Mysterious Ways
My day started pretty abruptly, but nothing out of the normal, my brother profusely banging on my bedroom door telling my to get my lazy ass up. Now, still having a few hours of sleep left in me, I would normally be pretty frustrated at the fact that I had been rudely awaken. But, I surprisingly woke up in an odd, but well mannered mood. I’m not saying I wake up in a bad mood often, but something about this morning just felt out of the ordinary and very pleasant. I made my way to the backyard to puff on a little cigarette, smoke some of God’s all natural herbal medication, have a cup of coffee and eat a nice hearty breakfast. My brother and I began to discuss the regular nonsense; work, school, and friends. I noticed the breathtaking Southern California sky, the rays of sunshine in my eyes and the swift autumn breeze. It brought a sense of peace and relaxation. As the temperature began to rise in the early afternoon, I could feel my body beginning to glisten. My forehead began to become moist and cool. I was considering cleaning the kitchen, finishing all my laundry and taking a little shower in preparation of the San Diego Padre game later that day. Then, I began to procrastinate like I always do, listen to my iPod on shuffle, play some online poker in the backyard. As I was lounging in my chair, I began to feel a boost of energy taking over my body. Like an outside force or spirit was trying to give me a sign. I noticed the sky getting darker and the wind picking up speed. Within a 5 minute span, the clear blue skies turned into thunder, rain and lightning. I slowly walked out from under the sheltered patio and looked up at the sky as raindrops hit my face with incredible force. My iPod’s shuffle made its way to Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb as I was showering in the mother nature’s pure process. As every drop hit my face and every inch of my body, I felt the sensation of becoming numb, as the song clearly states. All of my endorphins began to peak, a feeling of pure ecstasy ran through my body like I’ve never felt. Now considering all my thoughts about certain life situations I’ve been having lately, mother nature, as I see it, was giving me a sign. She was cleansing me, washing away all the negative energy and pessimistic thoughts I have been feeling. Her powers enlightened me into a new revelation. A brief moment of clarity and purity. A new light expanded my mind to a positive and bright future.
In closing, I feel like I need to make an accurate point about this blog entry. I feel that mother nature is a beautiful, powerful mysterious woman. We should all treat her with respect and never underestimate her powers.
